The gray cast came from three sources: an undersaturated gradient, gray-blue clouds and the theme-painted horizon fog staying at full strength in daylight. Sky stops gain saturation toward the album's periwinkle, clouds get a lavender tint, and the fog layer fades to 40% during the day.
